9/18/17 FOUR months since diagnosis day

Well today is officially 4 months since diagnosis day. Only fitting that he's sick as ever. Guess his body liked the delay of chemo a bit too much as his body has been very, very angry tonight. Next four weeks he will have chemo every other day. He did have a good time at the dance, only got sick once. He paid for the weekend though with 30! Hours of sleep in 2 days. Plus he has had a horrible, horrible evening. We have to figure out a cure for all cancers that does NOT involve chemo. You can literally see the poison taking over his body. It is just heartbreaking.

Homecoming 2017

9/14/17 Cause we all need some feel good posts....Wil is on homecoming court, he was the coach of the Champion Junior girls PowderPuff team, there is an article about him in the school paper, he was in the homecoming parade tonight, and the senior soccer boys asked if he'd like to light the bonfire with them. I'll keep saying it, but there is no need to worry about the next generation... these kids are ALL IN FOR WIL. As Wil just said again tonight I ain't worrying about dying, I'm busy making memories. Luv that boy.

9/14/17 Meds are in the USA

We heard last night that the medicine is in the US. Nothing official of course, but we are hopeful. So scary to think that this is giving time for the cancer cells to multiply. I'm beyond angry and worried. I do not know how there can possibly be a nation wide shortage of any childhood medication. Keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming we need this medicine this week. 9/15/17 Two chemos today... hoping the one we need is here tomorrow. Homecoming football game tonight and dance tomorrow. He's worried he won't feel well, but resting now. Thanks for all the good thoughts. 9/16/17 Medicine was delivered to the cancer clinic Saturday morning.  Thank you for all the positive thoughts! 14 days without chemo...just frightening

8.26.17 12 things only a survivor of cancer can tell you

1.Your appetite isn't what it used to be You will waste tons of food and feel guilty about spending money on something that ends up in the trash. But  nothing tastes the way it did before  you got sick. 2. Not everybody dies from cancer.  It is absolutely possible to be a survivor. However, it's equally possible that it kills you. The important thing is that you don't let it. 3. You find out who your real friends are. People you haven't talked to in years play the "concerned friend" card. Get used to the attention and faux sympathy. Get used to looks of pity when you go out in public with your scars and shiny bald head.  Hold the genuine people close : they'll be there long after the diagnosis. 4. Cancer doesn't care if you were totally healthy before you got sick.  It doesn't care how old you are. It doesn't care if you smoke or drink or if you use artificial sweeteners in your coffee. It doesn't care if you exercise every day and do nothi
