ALL in for Wil

100 SOCCER BALLS collection. As Wil has talked about his one year cancerversary coming up next month he has decided to NOT let cancer control this day. He would like to donate 100 new soccer balls to kids with cancer to share his love of the game and to encourage other kids to keep going. He would really appreciate you helping him make a difference in other kids' lives. He will not let cancer dictate his story. St. Louis friends you can bring a new soccer ball to our house, to the concession stand at  Lou Fusz , to  Sperreng Middle School , or to  Lindbergh High School  11th grade office. Wed Wil is having another difficult week. He is back in the hospital and could use some prayers and good mojo. They just drained some internal bleeding and sent it off for cultures. The chemo may be killing the cancer but it has now damaged his skin, stomach, gallbladder, liver, bones, and his colon, plus a kidney stone. He is still in pain and really needs a break. So very grateful for all the love and support.  # wilswarriors  are amazing Saturday Saturday night update...Wil is still in the hospital but he is up and walking some on pain meds which is a big improvement. His sister, Kristen, brought him a “dog” to encourage him to walk. His name is Lil Sky. We will take all the little victories we can. Wil’s liver is not happy. He is taking a break from chemo. We’re scared, but his body needs a break.

Sunday As a parent you hope that by this age your feelings and emotions are not so unequivocally tied too your teen, but cancer makes it so. I never want to say I’m lucky, but I am lucky that Wil makes living with this diagnosis easier on me as he is strong and determined and generally good natured. For that I am thankful. Having an older teen with cancer is horrible for all the reasons you think it would. The fear of losing him, the physical pain you have to watch him go through,  knowing that he knows what a 10 on the pain scale feels like. He knows what it means to hear the words, you have cancer. But having an older teen with cancer is also horrible for those things you don’t think about too. Wil KNOWS. He knows what cancer means, but he doesn’t have enough life experience to always sort it out in his own head. Our week did NOT get better. Wednesday, April 4 Back in the ER after a scary morning where his blood sugar crashed ( Debbie Deutschmann Kline don’t know how u do this as this was a terrifying first for us) glucose and IV fluids brought his color back.  GI Doctor is on his way to talk about his decreased gallbladder function. He is down 26 pounds in 2.5 weeks. Hoping he gets some relief soon. Wednesday afternoon Wil is in the pediatric intensive care unit with a few things going on. Looks like they will remove his gallbladder in the morning as chemo has not been kind. His HIDO scan on Monday showed decreased gallbladder function which is contributing to the puking/not eating. Wil has been dealing with issues related to his chemotheraphy. March 27, 2018 Well we did not get the the test results we wanted the past 2 days. We will have more tests in the next 2 weeks and new medicines to try. Chemo has not been kind. As always Wil is a trooper and he will get through this with laughter and good hair . Thank you for all the well wishes. MARCH 29, 2018 Wil had a rough night with chemo. He sweat through several beach towels. And has spent the mornIng throwing up. Nott much sleep going on at our house. Chemo is NOT a solution to this horrible disease. Wil has had 11 different types of chemo in the past 10 months. They are not kind. 1. Vincristine (1961) 2. The chemo has not been kind to his stomach, gallbladder, liver, or head. The good day was his MAKE A WISH faculty soccer game. March 15, 2018 Our family is humbled by the support of Wil and the Make A Wish foundation. Thank you from the bottom of our overflowing hearts, we love being a FLYER! -Thank you to Lori Condellire, Susan Dooling, & Beth Johnston for sharing pictures! A few members of the  StepUp  of St. Louis Teen Coalition presented a check from their budget for $100 to be used for Wil's Wish fundraising at the soccer game to day!
